SARS drops Richer's suspension.

The South Africa Revenue Service on Wednesday withdrew the suspension imposed on strategic planning and risk group executive Peter Richer.

The draft order was made by the Johannesburg Labour Court. SARS was also ordered to pay Richer's legal fees after the two parties reached a settlement.

Richer, along with deputy SARS commissioner Ivan Pillay were suspended earlier this month for matters relating to an investigation panel that was set up to probe media allegations of a rogue SARS unit and its illegal activities.

Both men approached the Labour Court to challenge their suspensions. Pillay's case is scheduled for later on Wednesday.
