Obasanjo's rejection of PDP return sign of defeat in 2023 - VON DG

Mr Osita Okechukwu, the Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), has described the recent rejection of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) overtures by former president Olusegun Obasanjo as a signal to another defeat in 2023 presidential election.

Okechukwu, also a chieftain and founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

He maintained that Obasanjo’s refusal to rejoin the PDP following request by its leaders came as a failure signal to the party ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

He recalled that PDP bigwigs led by its National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, visited Obasanjo in his Abeokuta residence to lobby him back to the party.
