Murdered woman found in Staffordshire lay-by was set alight, police say

A young woman whose body was found in a lay-by was set alight at the scene, police have said.

Staffordshire Police have launched a murder inquiry and appealed for help in identifying the victim, who was found in the early hours of Monday.

The woman was of slim build and is thought to have been aged between her late teens and 30.

Police said it was apparent she "had been set alight at the location and had significant burn marks on her body".
