Tory David Davis has already fired a shot across Europe's bows this morning in his first Brexitmessage of 2018.
Starting as he means to go on perhaps, the Brexit Secretary demanded Brussels does not "cherry pick" which aspects of trade it offers Britain after we leave.
Mr Davis' comments are an attempt to hijack and reverse the key criticism of Britain by EU chiefs.
Top negotiator Michel Barnier has repeatedly said Britain cannot "cherry pick" the 'good' bits of EU membership like tariff-free trade and cast others like uncontrolled immigration aside.
