'Ramaphosa worse than Zuma'

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has claimed that Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is worse than President Jacob Zuma.

The City Press reported that, speaking at the party's conference on Sunday, Malema said: "Cyril is worse than Zuma."

"The ANC will not change. If they move from Zuma to Cyril Ramaphosa, do you think they will adopt the Freedom Charter?" he said.

He accused Ramaphosa of being a criminal who only thinks about making money.

"When you send Cyril to Lesotho, in the back of his mind is diamonds," Malema said.

He added that Ramaphosa would have money on his mind in his approach to dealing with Eskom, now that he has been tasked with saving the power utility.

When asked about the reaction to Malema's comments, Ramaphosa's spokesperson said the deputy president would not dignify the claims with a response.
