DA in SCA to reinstate 783 charges against President Zuma.

Democratic Alliance Federal Executive, James Selfe will on Thursday attend the second round of the nine-year long legal battle to have criminal charges against President JacobZuma reinstated.

The court battle takes place after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and Zuma appealed the court ruling which found that the decision by NPA to withdraw charges against the president was irrational.

The North Gauteng high court had found that Zuma must face all the charges he was charged with and defend them in a court of law.

It is believed that the President will rely on the same argument he presented at the North Gauteng High, which he claimed that court must not interfere in the NPA’s matter.

Both NPA and President decided to petition the Supreme Court of appeal (SCA) for leave to appeal the North Gauteng High court.

Former prosecutions boss Mokotedi Mpshe withdraw the charges after considering representations from Zuma – which included the so-called Spy Tapes immediately after the Polokwane conference in 2007.
