A former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, has defeated Ifeanyi Uba to win the PDP primary election in Anambra State for the November 18 governorship poll.

Obaze polled 672 while Uba, the CEO of Capital Oil, got 94 votes, putting him in the third position.

Obaze's closest rival, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, scored 190.

A former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah and other contestants - Linda Ikpeazu and John Emeka - had withdrawn from the poll before the commencement of accreditation over alleged irregularities in the party's delegates' list.

Reacting to the exercise, Uba commended the security operatives for the peaceful conduct of the poll.

He, however, claimed that the delegates' list was doctored from what was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
The oil magnate has vowed to challenge the result of the exercise in court.
